L’Accolade provides support for people whose loved ones show clinical signs of major mental health issues.
The expression “mental illness” remains in the association’s vocabulary. However, developments in medicine and delays in establishing a psychiatric diagnosis require an expansion of terminology.
Therefore, the expression “major mental health issue” includes both undiagnosed issues and the five illnesses primarily addressed by the association, which are:
- Bipolar disorder (manic-depression)
- Borderline personality disorder
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder
Though our services are primarily structured around these illnesses, we are also able to answer various questions pertaining to other issues. If they go beyond the scope of our knowledge, we will refer you to the appropriate resources.
