Educational activities help participants obtain knowledge, skills and perspectives that foster a more strategic take on adapting to various personal or family situations.

Training on various mental disorders

L’Accolade offers various training sessions on common mental health illnesses, with each session adapted to the needs of the organization or business that requested it. If you are interested in a particular training session, please call us at 450‑699‑7059.

Psychoeducational programs

We also provide training for friends and family, as we know how important it is for them to understand what their loved ones are going through and learn how to support them and meet their needs accordingly.

Borderline personality disorder and us

Purpose of the program: To learn how to live with, love and support a person with borderline personality disorder (BPD), all while maintaining control over your own life.

Goals

  • Expand your knowledge about the issues surrounding BPD
  • Better understand BPD and the relationship dynamics that it implies
  • Examine your relationship with the person who has BPD
  • Look at what changes can be made to the dynamics of the relationship

The program consists of eight weekly sessions with both theoretical and practical components. Discussions from participants further complement the content.

Bipolar disorder challenge

Purpose of the program: To share information allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding of bipolar disorder.

Goals

  • Increase participants’ knowledge of the disorder
  • Improve upon the support they give to their loved ones
  • Promote understanding of what their loved one is going through

The program consists of six weekly sessions with both theoretical and practical components. Discussions from participants further complement the content.

Understanding depression

Purpose of the program: To be better equipped to handle the existential crisis that is depression.

Goals

  • Better understand the general signs and symptoms of depression
  • Shed light on what depression is and what are some common beliefs surrounding it
  • Learn how to live with depression while practicing self-compassion

The program consists of four weekly sessions with both theoretical and practical components. Discussions from participants further complement the content.

When Narcissus has issues

Purpose of the program: To acquire new adaptation strategies in the context of a relationship with a loved one with narcissistic personality disorder.

Goals

  • Increase participants’ knowledge about narcissistic personality disorder
  • Improve the quality of the relationship with a person who has the disorder
  • Make your needs clear, whether you have the disorder or are in a relationship with someone who does

ADD and ADHD

Purpose of the program: To shed light on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, whether of a hyperactive/impulsive, inattentive or combined type .

Goals

  • Learn to recognize the nuances of this disorder and know what to do when faced with it
  • Better understand the various ways this disorder manifests itself, in both children and adults

The program consists of four weekly sessions with both theoretical and practical components. Discussions from participants further complement the content.

Anxiety disorders

Purpose of the program: To learn how to deal with a person who has an anxiety disorder.

Goals

  • Recognize and understand various anxiety disorder types
  • Improve the quality of the relationship with a person who has the disorder
  • Learn how to take care of yourself inside of a relationship with someone who has an anxiety disorder

The program consists of six weekly sessions with both theoretical and practical components. Discussions from participants further complement the content.

I’m here too

Purpose of the program: To see yourself in a new light and learn to appreciate who you are.

Goals

  • Increase your self-esteem
  • Learn to know yourself better
  • Reflect upon your self-worth
  • Learn to minimize the impact of a loved one’s negative words

The program consists of three weekly sessions with both theoretical and practical components. Discussions from participants further complement the content.

Your emotions: An instruction manual

Purpose of the program: To develop various tools to help participants manage their emotions.

Goals

  • Learn to recognize and identify dominant emotions
  • Try out various management techniques with various tools at your disposal
  • Learn to meet difficult situations head on with a calmer approach

The program consists of six weekly sessions with both theoretical and practical components. Discussions from participants further complement the content.

Nights off

Purpose of the program: Because life moves along quickly. Because taking care of others is demanding. Because we may forget to look after ourselves. For all these reasons and more, you are invited to meet with… yourself, and enjoy a serene moment that allows you to connect with the person deep down inside.

Goals

  • Learn to be mindful of the present moment
  • Gain better control over internal pressures
  • Discover various relaxation methods you can use

The program consists of six hands-on workshops that will show you how to fully experience the benefits of relaxation.
